Changemakers 365 is a project of the American Refugee Committee with a commitment to do the doable every day, even in the most challenging environments in the world. Stories of Changemakers 365 are shared globally every day.
Through Changemakers 365, the team at ARC is committed to one doable project each day in the humanitarian communities where ARC works. One day a project might be restoring the ceiling of health center in the world’s newest refugee settlement. Another day it might be distributing midwife kits to hospital staff so they can deliver babies at night without electricity. Whatever the project, the team sets out to show that change is possible everyday, every where.
In it’s first year, I co-led concept direction and led storytelling in the field.
I was a lead Project Manager in the field, regularly engaging ARC staff, local volunteers, and the refugee community. It was often my job to bring ARC staff and local community leaders on board and to work with refugee groups to brainstorm ideas that we could do right away that would have a disproportionate impact on the challenges they face.
From Uganda to Thailand, it was my job to choose the right projects, lead a team through the execution of each idea, and identify the right stories to tell. I also captured these stories in photo and written work for distribution.
